Wheel thrown plates
Do you want to throw plates on the potter's wheel, improve your throwing skills and learn how to throw with up to 3 kg of clay?
This class shows you how to throw different shapes of plates like flat ones, large and small, and bowl shape pasta plates.
You'll learn how to throw and trim them and what you have to focus on so they won't crack or break.
Day 1: Learn to throw with more clay and how to use bats to throw a flat plate
Day 2: Experiment with new shapes like deep bowl plates
Day 3: Trim your plates and experiment with carving
Day 4: Trim your plates and experiment with engobing
Please be aware that I'll only bisque fire your pieces. Glazing and glaze firing is not included, but glazing service can be purchased (5€ per piece).
LOCATION
The class will take place in my pottery studio at Genslerstraße 13, 13055 Berlin.
LANGUAGE
The classes are taught in German and English. I will instruct in the language that works best for everyone.
PICK UP YOUR CERAMICS
You can pick up your ceramics about three weeks after your class! (I'll get in touch with you)
If you want me to glaze your pieces (5€/piece), it can take longer.
AGE RESTRICTIONS
The studio is an adult learning space. Kids may join from 14 years old, but from 14 - 16 years old they must be under supervision of a parent.
CANCELLATIONS
You can cancel or rebook your class up to two weeks before the start of the class. Unfortunately, no refunds are possible less than 14 days before the class.
